Freelance Web Development, Programming, and Design

The web doesn't work quite like it used to. Web 2.0 trends came and passed, and HTML5 is now widely adopted. The sleek and simple, and yet feature-rich websites of popular social media like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are what people now expect from every website and online service.

There are more web browsers and different operating systems on the Internet nowadays as well. From Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer to the touch-oriented browsers of mobile devices with limited resources and limited processing power, such as the iPhone and the many Android devices. Websites need to be thoroughly tested to work and perform nicely in each of these environments and be designed to use new web technologies such as responsive design and touch recognition on mobile devices.

If you don't have the time or resources to constantly test your website on the ever-evolving Internet, or if you're looking to add new and exciting features to your website or online service, than let me introduce myself.

I am Jacob Barkdull, I have more than 16 years of experience in web development and programming, and I'm confident I can make your website more appealing and feature-rich. I've designed and programmed for websites such as this one, InaTux, Losers Of The Year, non-profit Catch 22 Productions, and many others. I am also the author and primary developer of the HashOver comment system, a free and Open Source alternative to Disqus.

I have worked as a back-end, front-end, and full-stack developer in multiple programming languages. I've developed custom search engines, custom content management systems, front-ends to the APIs of multiple social media services, and written software for signature input for online legal forms. If you are interested in my services, please contact me to discuss ideas, features, and the cost of my time and labor.

I most often work under non-disclosure agreements (NDA), but here are a few examples of some of the publicly available web development work I have done over the years.
