That video comes from Sum 41: Day 5. Popular Canadian rock band "Sum 41", doesn't like Facebook, perhaps for technical and practical reasons, not really political reasons, but it's still awesome.

Deryck Whibley says he's "never been on Facebook", and that he doesn't "know how it all works (it's stupid)" while he says "MySpace is actually [a] decent layout." Jason McCaslin adds "Yeah, it's easy." Those are clearly pragmatic view points.

Jason McCaslin (Cone) voices his opinion of Facebook as: While Sum 41 has a Facebook page, it is likely ran by the record label, as most of the content is just copies of what they post on MySpace and Twitter. And because Deryck Whibley says he's never used Facebook, and Jason McCaslin says "I have [used Facebook], but I don't have an account" it seems unlikely they are personally posting the content.

I just think this is cool. Now, if only we could get them off MySpace and on to Identi.ca :)

What Is This Place?
TildeHash is a website for Tech articles revolving around Free Software and Unix/Unix-like operating systems, written by Jacob Barkdull and various contributors, respectively. Meaning, Free Software (or Open Source); and GNU/Linux (or simply Linux), BSD, OpenSolaris, or Haiku; respectively. The main goal of TildeHash is to be different -- the name alone is a little different (explanation here) -- but to do it in a useful way.

TildeHash is about discussing Free Software topics that are beneficial to our community, topics that are largely not discussed nor shown. "Free Software" is also often called "Open Source Software". In practice the requirements are identical, although because the term "open" doesn't call to mind freedom, it misses the point.
